Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area
One of the oldest civil rights institutions on the West Coast, the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area (LCCRSF) works to dismantle systems of oppression and racism. LCCRSF focuses on racial justice, economic justice, and immigrant justice.
Racial Justice
For more than 50 years, LCCRSF has fought to dismantle the many manifestations of institutionalized white supremacy and the oppression of Black communities and other people of color. We are committed to challenging policies, institutions, and systems that are violent, unjust, and inequitable to BIPOC communities.
Economic Justice
LCCRSF is committed to closing the racial wealth gap and empowering communities of color by increasing economic opportunities that will enable individuals to be in control of their livelihoods. We know that a strong economy fuels a community and, without it, the disparities that result can last for generations.
Immigrant Justice
Immigrant communities have been historically marginalized and continue to face various legal obstacles in an increasingly punitive immigration system. Our work is in solidarity with immigrants who face significant barriers to fair treatment and civic engagement by challenging particularly unjust systemic processes.
