Alameda County Immigration Legal and Education Partnership (ACILEP)
Alameda County Immigration Legal and Education Partnership (ACILEP) is a collaborative program dedicated to protecting and empowering undocumented communities across Alameda County. We provide rapid response, legal services, and community education to ensure that undocumented individuals and their families have access to justice, dignity, and the resources they need to thrive.
Our mission is to defend immigrants’ rights, keep families together, and challenge the systemic inequities within the immigration system. ACILEP stands as a critical support network for individuals facing detention, deportation, and other immigration-related emergencies. Through our services, we respond to urgent situations in order to build long-term pathways for stability, safety, and empowerment.
Our Approach
Undocumented individuals in detention or deportation proceedings face a complicated and often unjust system. Many do not have the access to legal representation, which drastically reduces their chances of staying in the U.S. ACILEP is a partnership rooted in community. By collaborating with trusted legal, advocacy, and education partners, we:
-
Respond to urgent needs: Mobilizing quickly to address ICE actions and immigration emergencies.
-
Provide legal support: Offering legal representation to those most at risk of deportation.
-
Educate and Empower: Equipping undocumented individuals and their families with the tools to defend their rights through workshops/trainings, and resources.
Together, we are committed to creating a stronger, more just Alameda County where undocumented individuals feel safe, supported, and empowered.
We stand by Alameda County’s undocumented community in these challenging times, offering urgent support to address the systemic inequities in our immigration system.
ACILEP will provide services to undocumented individuals and families with ties in Alameda County. Our priority will be to connect with individuals facing an imminent risk of arrest by ICE or placement in detention. Additionally, we offer consultations and prose legal assistance to individuals in removal proceedings who have upcoming hearings and lack legal representation. We also assist individuals with a final order of removal or those preparing for an upcoming check-in with ICE.
